About this event

Rally Comunidad de Madrid

The Rally Comunidad de Madrid took place around the Jarama circuit and the Sierra de Madrid, with timed stages in sections near the El Atazar and the town of El Berrueco. The event was held on November 24 and 25, during the last days of autumn on a partly cloudy but pleasantly warm day.

This asphalt rally comprised 13 timed stages with long connections between Jarama and the El Atazar reservoir in the Madrid mountains. Antxustegi Gorka and Alberto Iglesias Pin led the event with their Group N5 Suzuki Swift R+. They secured the overall victory by winning the first timed stage and maintaining a consistent performance, which allowed them to build a sufficient gap over their rivals, who exchanged positions throughout the competition.

Second place, 39 seconds behind, went to José Luis Peláez and Rodolfo del Barrio in a Ford Fiesta R5. Completing the podium were Iván Ares and his co-driver José Antonio Pintor Bouzas in a Hyundai i20 R5, one of the favorites.

In the overall standings for the Madrid Regional Asphalt Cup, the victory went to Daniel Marbán and Victor M. Ferrero in a Lotus Exige Cup 260 GT-R. They were closely followed by José Luis Peláez and Rodolfo del Barrio in the Ford Fiesta R5, finishing just 7.7 seconds behind. The final podium spot was secured by Jesús García Martínez and Eduardo Izquierdo in a Porsche 911 (997) GT3 RS.
